O.K. - So I Have Been Goofing Off!

Posted by Ringmaster on 07 May 2008 at 08:54 pm | Tagged as: Uncategorized

But let me tell you what I have been doing. I am very fortunate to live in the country with a husband who will do anything (well, ALMOST anything) to make me happy. Because it is spring, we have been putting in a large organic garden so just about everything else has fallen by the wayside. But I promise after next week ( I am going fishing!!) we will start on DIETS and study the pros and cons of as many as we can think of, so stay healthy - have you been putting your $5 in your jar each week???

Paper Doll Time

Posted by Ringmaster on 25 Apr 2008 at 10:25 am | Tagged as: Uncategorized

I have stacks and stacks of catalogs sitting around my T.V. chair. Some of them are clothes that I couldn’t possibly wear, but I don’t throw them out because "someday" I might be able to order a dress or top and want to "be ready" for it. So, after listening to all the motivational tapes and reading all the self-help books, I have decided to take a little bit of information from each of them (after all, they DO have something important to say to us about our lifestyle). Here is what I am going to do about those catalogs. I am going to cut out every style that I like and paste a picture of my face over the face of the model, put it on cardboard backing and put it on the refrigerator. Will this help, I don’t know but it is worth a try!!!

Take-a-Walk Day!

Posted by Ringmaster on 17 Apr 2008 at 04:53 am | Tagged as: The Game

walk1.gifHow fortuitous was it to decide to start walking on Take a Walk Day - and I didn’t even know! I took my camera and took a few (what I thought was) interesting photographs. If you get the opportunity to carry a camera, take a few photos along the way to make the walk interesting. You can download them as screensavers to remind you to walk the two miles every day!

Get Up and Play!

Posted by Ringmaster on 12 Apr 2008 at 05:17 am | Tagged as: Uncategorized

O.K.- Your closet is cleaned out, right? Now it is time to get serious - but slowly, at first. Mark out one mile from your front door and WALK IT EVERY DAY. This means morning and evening, for example, if you ride to work with someone, have them pick you up at your designated spot and let you off there, too. If you work or stay at home pick a time, in the morning or evening that you can get away and walk there and back- even if the kids have to walk with you (It is good for them, too!). We will increase this walk every week for one month, starting May 1st!

Clean Up Your Act!

Posted by Ringmaster on 03 Apr 2008 at 02:08 pm | Tagged as: Organize It

The project for this weekend will be to clean out your closet and drawers of ANY clothes that are too small. Try to sort them in “sizes” so that you can pull out one box at a time as you “shrink”. DO NOT throw them away or give them away. YOU WILL want them back.

Just a note on why I am so slow in getting down to losing weight. Well, it took me a long time to put it on so I plan to have a solid method in getting it off! And besides, a three-ringed circus has to be co-ordinated so that each idea doesn’t collide with another and leave “elephant poop” all over the place!

Come Join Us in the Big Tent! It’s Time to Slim Down!

Posted by Ringmaster on 01 Apr 2008 at 02:35 pm | Tagged as: The Game

I am going to start losing weight today, but treat it as a game rather than a monumental task. I have waited far too long to get started so it will be like a three-ringed circus, with all the clowns, animals, glitter and music - but I AM THE RINGMASTER, so I will run the show!!

Will you come along with me? We will have an adventure and use our imaginations to make losing weight fun and easy. I have tried diets, exercise, fasting and shaming myself, but nothing has worked. I don’t want to do this alone anymore, so join me with your tips and ideas and we can do this together!!
